BARTONVILLE ~ Adrian Leigh Lane, 31, formerly of Bartonville and Glasford, passed away March 4, 2015 in China. 

He was born December 15, 1983 in Peoria to Linda (Jordan) Smith. 

Surviving are his mother, Linda Smith of Murfreesboro, TN; two brothers, William Babcock of Murfreesboro, TN; and Adam Babcock of Coleman, FL; four sisters, Tamara Wallace and Melinda (Mark) Six, both of Shreveport, LA; Amber (Glenn) Neal of Washington; and Angie (Alex) Seriana of Greenbrier, TN; many brothers and sisters of friendship in Zhuhai China, Darren, Cormac, Fionn, Neil, Paul, Anna and Gabby, all who worked so hard to assist in bringing him home to rest. Adrian was also a fun uncle to six nephews and seven nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dale Smith; grandparents, Winifred Milliman and Harold and Barbara Jordan. 

Adrian attended Illini Bluffs, Hollis and Limestone schools, where he was a member of the student council. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ashley University in Art and History. He also was BEC certified for teaching Business English Internationally and was TEFL certified internationally. Adrian also was a JKA certified martial arts and self-defense instructor. 

He enjoyed extensive travel abroad, which included Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and China. He thoroughly enjoyed the Asian continent and its lifestyle. Also, he enjoyed wrestling, cooking, hanging with his friends abroad and especially his family at home. He was a Tennessee Titans football fan. 

Adrian was a member of The Journey Church in East Peoria, where he enjoyed the Wednesday evening prayer group. He was confirmed as a youth at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria, where he attended as a youth. 

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Ron Stewart will officiate. Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kingston Mines Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
