PEKIN ~ Lucy Elizabeth Borsch, 94, of Pekin, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria.

Born September 12, 1922 in Hartford, Connecticut to Antonio J. and Maria (Pianto) Crespan, she married Bill Robert Borsch on June 8, 1946 in Pekin.  He died April 29, 2014 in Pekin.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lena Ives and Ida Lamenzo; and two brothers, Mario Crespan and Dominick Crespan.

Surviving are two sons, Bill David (Susan) Borsch of Crystal Falls, Michigan and Mark (Courtney) Borsch of Pekin; one daughter, Claudia (Raymond) Bill of Pekin; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A United States Navy veteran of World War II, she served from January 27, 1944 to March 20, 1946. 

Lucy worked at Herget National Bank in Pekin for 25 years, retiring in 1986 as a secretary in the loan department.  Previously, she had worked for the state of Connecticut in the early 1940’s.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the Council of Catholic Women.  She also was a member of the Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter #673 and the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary.

Lucy was an avid reader and enjoyed playing pinochle, sewing, bowling, and golfing.

Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.  Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy.
