WEST PEORIA ~ Marciana Brewer, 71 of West Peoria, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born August 3, 1945 in Belleville to Jewel Freeman and Laura (Young) Scarborough.
Surviving are one daughter, Christine Decker of Mossville; three sons, James (Lois) Billen of Chillicothe, Joseph (Cyndi Hand) Billen of Peoria, Alex Scroggins of Peoria; fifteen grandchildren, Laura, Josh, Justin, Alyssa, James, Jewel, Jacob, Joe Bear, Jade, Paige, Lakota, Lily, Zoe, Cianna, Cerena; eight great-grandchildren and other special people in her life, including Kath Hart, Tami Scroggins, Nancy Maughn, Billie Billen and so many others. She was the last surviving sibling of fourteen children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jesse, and her best friend, Nancy Lee White. She also was preceded in death by fourteen brothers and sisters.
Marciana had worked as a waitress for the Holiday Inn Brandywine in Peoria, retiring in 2000.
A loving mother and grandmother, she was truly a “people person”. She loved helping people and had never known a stranger. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed caring for her house plants, bowling, fishing and traveling with her dogs, Rags and Oreo
Marciana was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Peoria where her funeral will be at noon Friday, October 14, 2016. Bishop Dave Thompson will preside over the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery in Danvers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
