PEKIN ~ William Henry Clayburg, 85, of Pekin, passed away at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin.

Born April 2, 1932 in Cash, Arkansas to William Edward and Lottie (McGowan) Clayburg, he married Mary Lee Cook on August 5, 1966 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Clayburg of Aransas Pass, TX and William E. Clayburg of Cleburne, TX; eleven grandchildren, Chuck (Cindy) Linton, Christopher (Betsy) Schmitz, Jamie (Jim) Camelford, Sonya (Jeff) Robertson, Casey (Des) Clayburg, Jason (Chrissie) Works, Michael Works, Tonya (B.J.) Wright, Amanda Clayburg, Jennifer Clayburg and Jessica (John) Clayburg Taylor; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Patrick Clayburg and three daughters, Debby Works, Marilyn Jean Linton and Neda Gail Schmitz; one brother and one sister.

Bill worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years as an inspector, retiring in 1982.  He then worked as an over the road truck driver for 8 years.

A mechanic, Bill loved working on cars and trucks.  He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Bill loved God and studied his Bible faithfully.  He was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Pekin.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Brother Albert Ables will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
